September is the first month when employers will not be receiving the full amount of 80% of employees furlough pay. Instead, in September: employers can only claim 70% of the furlough pay (capped at £2187.50).
A few things to remember regarding the period of the claim:
From July CJRS the claim period must be within a calendar month regardless of the employer’s payroll period.
You can claim for a minimum of 7 calendar days in the claim period for an employee.
For example, you cannot claim for 3 days of furlough of an employee, unless these days fall at the beginning or at the end of the claim period and you have already claimed for at least 4 days in the previous claim or you will be subsequently claiming for at least 4 days in the next period.
You must estimate the hours an employee will have worked in the claim period as accurately as possible. Any errors must be corrected, and any overpayment must be paid back to HMRC.
